No school design can eliminate security risks, but thoughtful planning can help educators and children feel safe and secure so they can maximize learning and focus on academic achievement. Hosted by Jay Drag, a seasoned educator, and Larry Hausner, an expert in the active assailant alert industry, this session will equip participants with information on safety and security efforts underway in schools across the country. Efforts include changing school building design to better secure entrances to specific measures that allow staff and students to proactively prepare for any critical incident. All schools share similar needs in this area and all solutions presented are not restricted by geography - they are applicable in all schools!
